Electoral Commission announces GHC100,000 filing fees for 2020 presidential aspirants

Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, has opened up the nominations for parliamentary and presidential candidates ahead of the 2020 general elections.

At a press conference on September 14, Jean Mensa announced that the cost of forms for Presidential aspirants is ₵100,000 while parliamentary aspirants are required to pay ₵10,000

Finally to the subject of Filing Fees, Presidential Candidates will be required to deposit an amount of one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC100,000.00) in the form of a banker’s draft to the Commission. Parliamentary candidates will be required to deposit ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC10,000.00). We wish Candidates for both the Presidential and Parliamentary well. We trust that the Nomination Process will be efficient, seamless and orderly.”, part of the statement reads.

She reiterated that the elections would come off on the 7th of December as usual.
